# Receita Federal

> Brazilian tax authority — CPF (natural person) and CNPJ (corporate) validation against the canonical registry.

Receita Federal do Brasil is the authoritative source for CPF and CNPJ status. Frayme calls it directly for the canonical *situação cadastral* — the registry-status check that ultimately decides whether a Brazilian identity is usable.

It covers both natural-person KYC (CPF validation, including name, date of birth, and registration status) and KYB (CNPJ validation, including corporate composition and UBO data via the QSA registry).
