# Decision Console: layout and navigation

> The three columns of a case, the three ways the console opens, and how to move between queued cases.

The Decision Console at [`/decisions`](https://console.us.frayme.io/decisions) is where you review and decide. It shows one case at a time.

## Open a case

There are three ways in, and they lead to the same screen:

* **From the queue** — press `Enter` on a highlighted row or click it. The console opens in queued mode with **Case i of n** and **Previous** / **Next**.
* **From Cases** — click any row at any stage. Decided cases open read-only.
* **From the sidebar** — **Decision Console** opens the first waiting case.

## The three columns

| Column               | What it holds                                                                                                                                               |

| Subject and evidence | Who the case is about, identity or company details, custom attributes, tags, questionnaire, customer context, location, Document Check, transaction details |
| Risk and trace       | Risk assessment, screening signals, pending broker actions, data-source results, discovered identifiers, activity timeline                                  |
| Decide and notes     | Monitoring findings, the decision rail, notes                                                                                                               |

## Navigation modes

* **Queued** — the case is in the queue you came from. The header shows **Case i of n**, the case type, the risk band and, once claimed, **Locked to you**. **Previous** and **Next** move through the queue and skip cases another analyst holds.
* **Active, not in the queue page** — the case is still in progress but was opened directly. You get **Back to queue** instead of Previous / Next.
* **Historical** — the case is approved, declined or completed. The banner says it is read-only.

## Move between queued cases

`←` or `K` goes to the previous case, `→` or `J` to the next. Both are disabled while a claim is being acquired or released. If you hold a claim and navigate away, the console asks you to release it first.

## Refresh

**Refresh cases** in the header reloads the case and the queue.

## Read-only cases

When a case is decided you can still read every card, the notes and the timeline. The decision rail is replaced by the read-only banner. Senior analysts see **Override decision** there; see [Override a final decision](/guides/analyst/console-override).
