# Approve and Deny

> The terminal nodes that emit a decision.

Types `approve` and `deny`. Every path in a top-level flow must end on one of them; neither accepts an outgoing edge.

## Approve

| Field          | Meaning                                                  |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Risk score** | Optional number or expression recorded with the decision |

## Deny

| Field              | Meaning                                                                                                                   |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Decline reason** | Recorded with the decision; supports `${...}` interpolation, for example `Risk score ${vars.risk_pct} exceeded threshold` |
| **Risk score**     | Optional, as above                                                                                                        |

## Effects

Reaching Approve or Deny writes the decision, emits `case.decided` to the flow's result webhook, and shows the case as approved or declined in Cases and the Decision Queue's history.
