# Send RFI

> Send an information request to the case customer from inside the flow.

Type `sendRfi`.

| Field               | Meaning                                      |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| **Template**        | A template from **Settings → Communication** |
| **Output variable** | Where the request id lands (default `rfi`)   |

The node emits `case.rfi_requested` through the communication webhook; your systems send the email. The case is marked as awaiting information exactly as when an analyst sends a request. A deleted template makes the flow fail validation.
